SnapShot: Mass Spectrometry for Protein and Proteome Analyses
نویسندگان
چکیده
Quantify proteins without stable isotopes Label-free quantifi cation Quantitative data are derived from the number of MS/ MS spectra per peptide (spectral counting) or the integrated peak area of the ion chromatogram of a specifi c peptide. Generally considered less accurate than isotope-based methods but does not require expensive labeling reagents; method of choice for large numbers of samples; also used for estimating absolute protein quantities in a sample. Compatible with all acquisition methods.

Proteome analysis of Cryptosporidium parvum and C. hominis using two-dimentional electrophoresis, image analysis and tandem mass spectrometry
Until recently, Cryptosporidium was thought to be a single species genus. Molecular studies now showthat there are at least 10 valid species of this parasite. Among them, two morphologically identical species, C.hominis and C. parvum are the most pathogenic identified to date and share 97% of identical genomes.Post-genomic analyses is therefore necessary to explore further the...
متن کاملArabidopsis leaf plasma membrane proteome using a gel free method: Focus on receptor–like kinases
The hydrophobic proteins of plant plasma membrane still remain largely unknown. For example in the Arabidopsis genome, receptor-like kinases (RLKs) are plasma membrane proteins, functioning as the primary receptors in the signaling of stress conditions, hormones and the presence of pathogens form a diverse family of over 610 genes. A limited number of these proteins have appeard in pr...

متن کاملEarly cytokinin response proteins and phosphoproteins of Arabidopsis thaliana identified by proteome and phosphoproteome profiling
Cytokinins are plant hormones involved in regulation of diverse developmental and physiological processes in plants whose molecular mechanisms of action are being intensely researched. However, most rapid responses to cytokinin signals at the proteomic and phosphoproteomic levels are unknown. Early cytokinin responses were investigated through proteome-wide expression profiling based on image a...
